If you weren't a consultant, what job would you want to do?
An executive assistant... strange, I know but I love organization, administrative tasks and structure 🤓
What was your very first job?
An ice cream scooper at Baskin Robbins, the pressure of a perfectly round, perfectly weighted scoop of ice cream still haunts me 🍨
Do you have a hidden talent?
It's not really hidden but AHEM, I've been known to belt out a tune or two and hit the karaoke bar once in a while... ok, maybe more than once in a while but who's counting 🎤
What new skill or hobby did you pick up during the pandemic lockdown?
Nothing new, but went back to cooking A LOT. All types of foods and recipes... I was also reminded that I am still terrible at baking.
What do you wish you knew more about?
The world of crypto and NFT. It makes my mind spin and eyes cross when I attempt to dabble. This and also Sasquatch. Yes, random I know, don't ask me why, but I am obsessed with it!
Building IKEA furniture - torture or enjoyable?!
Pure T O R T U R E - the further away from tools I am, the better for everyone around me 🔨
If you could go back in time, which class in high school do you wish you paid more attention in?
Embarrassingly, geography. To this day, I am lost without my GPS, and (cue laughter, it's ok, I give you permission), I couldn't read a map if my life depended on it and am super direction illiterate 🌎
What's the most memorable place you've travelled to?
Hawaii for the win. I have been to many places in Hawaii and every time have wanted to start a life there. The people, culture, and vibe are what home should feel like.
What's your best childhood memory?
Everything that has to do with volleyball. It was a huge part of my life all the way until university. I played competitively, provincially and nationally, received a scholarship for it, and also taught a lot of it growing up. I loved all the people, the discipline, tournaments, competition and travel.
Do you have an irrational fear?
I think it's pretty rational but I have a love/fear relationship with water, lakes and oceans mainly. I am a water baby through and through but I also 1000% believe that there is a ton we don't know about the world beneath us in the water. In the big wide ocean, I know there are creatures... big ones, weird ones and scary ones down there. And yes, the Loch Ness monster is real! 🌊
What's your ideal way to start the day?
My non-negotiable is listening to a podcast to get my mind right for the day.
What's the best part about working from home?
Not participating in the traffic 🚗🚚🚐
What's your favourite part of the ERP implementation process?
Being able to assist companies in solving the issues they are having with their current system and providing them with realistic solutions to support their growth. Knowing that I can be part of the solution and their success is what it's about for me.
What is the most interesting business you've worked with as a consultant?
There is a company that makes custom stuffies as part of collaborative campaigns with influencers. Each influencer has their own custom stuffie that gets made if they have enough of the public's pre-orders. The creative process and design of these stuffies and the concept itself were phenomenal.
What is something you enjoy about working with the Umbrella Consulting team?
Very simply, the Umbrella team. I have never been part of a team that embodies the concept of teamwork more than this group. As well, being part of a team that truly cares about their customers. All companies say that customer satisfaction is one of their company values, but with Umbrella, this couldn't be truer. I am so proud to be part of the results and energy that Umbrella provides to its customers 🙌
